Two suspects arrested in ‘revenge' murder

SAN ANTONIO – Two suspects have been arrested in a five-month-old ‘revenge' murder case.

SAN ANTONIO – Two suspects have been arrested in a five-month-old ‘revenge’ murder case.

The murder victim claimed he ran over a man by accident, but police said the people who wanted him dead didn't buy that story.

David Ortiz was arrested last Friday and Ignacio Jimenez Junior was arrested on Wednesday. Both men face a charge of murder.

There is a third suspect, but police have yet to arrest them.

Police said the victim, 32-year-old Roland Pantoja, went to buy drugs with a man he trusted on August 30 in the 1400 block of Colima Street.

Pantoja was reportedly pistol whipped at gunpoint and the people at the home stabbed him to death. He was allegedly being confronted about running a man over, an incident Pantoja said was an accident.

A witness said Pantoja was stabbed as he sat in a car, forced out of the vehicle and stabbed on the ground until he died.

An arrest document said his body was wrapped in a blanket and dumped in the 10000 block of Quintana Road. The bloody vehicle was taken to a car wash and passed off in Dimity County for disposal.

The San Antonio Police Department got a lead on the vehicle, a witness to the crime, and got the break they needed to make the arrests.
