U-Haul truck gets stuck under hotel carport on northeast side

The moving truck was too tall, according to authorities, causing it to hit the carport and get stuck. No injuries were reported.

SAN ANTONIO — A U-Haul truck got stuck under a carport of a northeast-side hotel, authorities say.

The San Antonio Police Department say at about 11:37 p.m. Friday night someone tried to drive under the carport at the Extended Stay S.A. located on the 9700 block of I-35 North.

The U-Haul truck was too tall, according to authorities, causing it to hit the carport and get stuck.

SAPD and SAFD both arrived on the scene, but they say nobody was around. No injuries were reported.

SAFD put some bracing around the damaged area to stop more damage and collapse. SAPD is still investigating.
