UTSA Athletics announces kids drawing contest to design football tickets for this season

Children across San Antonio are invited to participate in designing Roadrunner football tickets.

SAN ANTONIO — Birds Up! How would you like to see your design on a UTSA Roadrunners' football ticket for their upcoming season?

UTSA Athletics has a contest for kids across San Antonio to showcase their creativity and love for football by designing next season’s football tickets. The university is hoping to engage young fans in the excitement of college football while also empowering them to leave their marks on the upcoming season.

The school says to use your imagination and let your creativity soar and capture the spirit of being a UTSA Roadrunner in a colorful drawing representing one of six hometown heroes:

  • Educators
  • First Responders
  • Healthcare Workers
  • Small Business Owners
  • Essential Workers
  • Members of the Armed Forces

“We believe that involving our youngest fans in the design process adds a unique and special touch to our football season,” said Dr. Brad Smith, UTSA Deputy Athletics Director for External Affairs. “Their creativity and passion are truly inspiring, and we can’t wait to see the amazing designs they come up with.”

The contest is open to kids ages 5-12 who live in the greater San Antonio area and your drawings can be digitally submitted or sent in by mail.

The winning design will be featured on the official season tickets for UTSA football, making it a memorable keepsake for fans across the city. The winner will also receieve an exclusive UTSA Athletics prize pack, with tickets for them and a parent to the season opener and a VIP experience at an upcoming home game.

Entries will be accepted from April 29 through May 10 with the winners announced on June 1. Parents and guardians are encouraged to support their children in this exciting endeavor and help them unleash their creativity.

To submit a design, email it electronically to Kaitlin.Meyers@utsa.edu or mail to Katie Meyers, UTSA Athletics, 1 UTSA Circle, San Antonio, TX 78249.

Starting at $90, fans can purchase season tickets online or by calling the UTSA Ticket Office at 210-458-UTSA (8872) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday excluding holidays.
