SAN ANTONIO — UTSA evacuated three buildings on its main campus due to a bomb threat. Officials say the threat appears to be a hoax, but classes were canceled as a precaution.

The bomb threat was received Tuesday morning and UTSA Police began evacuating students and checking buildings.

Campus police said they plan to clear out the Main Building, Business Building and Flawn Sciences Building for approximately 2 hours starting at 1:30 p.m. for officers to do a thorough sweep. Classes in those buildings are canceled until 4 pm, and buildings will be locked.

"All information indicates this threat is a hoax," the university said in a statement.
