SAN ANTONIO — A vacant home on the southeast side goes up in flames late last night and will be set for demolition, according to officials.
The incident took place at a large structure on the 1500 block of Hackberry around 11 p.m. Wednesday.
When firefighters arrived on the scene the structure was fully engulfed in flames and firefighters attacked the flames from the outside due to the building's weak integrity, according to officials. Fire crews reported holes in the walls and floors making it unsafe to enter.
Flames consumed the building but fire officials were able to put it out.
This is the second time within months fire crews have been to the building. Demolition crews were reportedly at the home to knock it down.
Daytime photos from after the fire show the house in ruins.
