SAFD: Vacant house slightly collapses after fire on east side

Firefighters were worried about the fire spreading to neighboring homes since the flames were reportedly shooting out of the vacant house.

SAN ANTONIO — Firefighters battled a vacant house fire on the city's east side late Thursday night.

San Antonio fire crews arrived to a home on the 200 block of Porter Street around 11:00 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters noticed the back corner of the house had already slightly collapsed. 

Firefighters were worried about the fire spreading to neighboring homes since the flames were reportedly shooting out of the vacant house. 

Crews were able to quickly put out the fire and no injuries were reported. 

Officials said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
