SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio family is honoring the life of a little boy killed in a crash in Mexico.

On Tuesday night, a viewing was held for 5-year-old Zachary Reyna, who would’ve started his first day of kindergarten at Collier Elementary on Monday.

Loved ones said Zachary was in Mexico with his grandparents and 7-year-old brother, coming back from a church convention when an 18-wheeler struck their vehicle, killing him. His older brother and grandparents were injured.

KENS 5 previously reported that Zachary’s mother was struggling to bring his body home following his tragic death. Since then, the family said they were able to get the boy back home to San Antonio.

His grandmother remains hospitalized in Mexico while his older brother is recovering at home.

Zachary will be laid to rest on Wednesday.
