VON ORMY, Texas — A man was found fatally shot in the backyard of a home in Von Ormy early Saturday morning, police say.
Police responded to the 5900 block of Lopez Valley Road around 1:30 a.m. for reports of a shooting in progress.
When officers arrived at the home, they found the victim deceased in the backyard from a gunshot wound.
According to an officer, a party was underway when an unknown suspect began firing off shots in the backyard.
One of the rounds struck the victim. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim had not been positively identified at this time. This investigation remains ongoing.
