SAN ANTONIO — Employees woke up to a wild encounter inside the federal courthouse Sunday morning.
San Antonio Animal Care Services responded to a call in the downtown area for a wild fox that had reportedly made its way inside the building.
Upon entering the courtroom, ACS officers found the fox lounging under a bench "as if it was awaiting its trial."
According to ACS, "after a successful standoff" officers were able to secure the fox in a large carrier crate. The fox was then transferred to ACS partners at the Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation, Inc.
Officials say the fox will receive treatment if needed before being released back to its natural habitat.
