SAN ANTONIO -- A child's birthday party became a crime scene Tuesday night, after a man was shot during a fight.
The San Antonio Police Department said Abram Shelton was critically injured in the chest and stomach in the 2000 block of Dollarhide Avenue just before 11 p.m. He and a relative were trying to break up a fight at a birthday party.
A woman at the celebration said a party crasher walked through the outside event and started a fight with her 22-year-old brother. When the two men tried to diffuse the violence, gunfire erupted. The woman said people grabbed their children to run to safety.
The 42-year-old victim was taken to the San Antonio Military Medical Center for treatment. In the meantime, police seized cell phone video of the shooting from witnesses.
SAPD is looking for four men in connection with the shooting. They will face a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
