SAN ANTONIO — Police have arrested a woman they say robbed a 7-Eleven wearing a plastic bag covering her face and carrying a weapon.
San Antonio Police were dispatched to the Exxon / 7-Eleven gas station located on I-35 North at Eisenhauer Road on the northeast side of town on Wednesday for reports of a robbery in progress.
Police say that Gabriela Marisol Ramirez, 28, entered the store with a black plastic bag concealing her face and told the cashier she had a weapon. She jumped over the counter and grabbed the cash register and walked toward the door carrying it, according to arrest paperwork.
According to police, the store employee blocked the door from the outside in an attempt to stop the suspect. Ramirez reached to the back of her waistband and told the store employee that she had a weapon, police say. The employee moved away from the door and Ramirez drove away from the scene in a black truck. The entire incident was captured on surveillance video, police say.
Ramirez was arrested and is being charged with aggravated robbery. Police say it appears the suspect's vehicle was used in at least two other robberies. While being interrogated by police, Ramirez confessed to the three robberies.
Ramirez is facing at least four felony charges. Her bond is set at $40-thousand.
Timeline of the three robberies SAPD says Ramirez is connected to:
Scene one:
SAPD says Ramirez's robbery attempts began at a Circle K near I-35 on the northeast side Wednesday just before 4:00 a.m.
The store clerk would tell police Ramirez would put her in a headlock, demanding the victim to open the register. When the clerk didn't Ramirez agedly held a highlighter to the victim's neck.
After the suspect would threaten having a gun police say Ramirez would steal scratch-offs and drive away in a black truck.
Scene two:
Not even an hour later police say Ramirez, with a plastic bag on her head to hide her identity again would attempt to rob a 7-eleven off I-35. When police say the victim tried blocking Ramirez from taking the register out the door the suspect grabbed her waist claiming to have a gun.
Police say the victim then moved out of the way and Ramirez took off in a black truck.
Scene three:
Around 10:00 a.m. police would show up to a Taco Bell off Siguin Street. Three victims would describe to officers how Ramirez came into the store with a plastic bag on her head.
The victims told officers Ramirez threatened them with a box cutter in hand. SAPD says she demanded the victims give her the register and when they didn't she started collecting items, putting them into a truck.
Police would arrive just after 10 in the morning, arrest Ramirez and get a confession to all three robberies.
This is a developing story.
