SAN ANTONIO — A woman is being charged with aggravated assault after police say she chased after her boyfriend in her car, then hit him with it and crashed into another car early Sunday morning.
San Antonio Police responded to the 2000 block of Hidalgo Street near Southwest 19th Street around 3:45 a.m. for reports of an incident involving a driver hitting a pedestrian and causing life-threatening injuries.
When officers arrived they found a 2007 Ford Focus wrecked and abandoned next to the unconscious body of a 38-year-old man. He was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Video evidence found at the scene by police showed the victim running west on Hidalgo Street, with the driver of the Ford chasing after him, then hitting him with the car. That driver then crashed into a parked car at a high rate of speed.
The 38-year-old female driver is seen getting out of the Ford after the crash, failing to render aid and then running away, police say.
Preliminary investigations by officers revealed that the victim and the suspect driver are in a dating relationship and the crash appeared intentional.
Police say the suspect will be charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon SBI-Dating when found.
