We first met 25-year-old Alyssa back in September when we did a feature story on her for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.

Alyssa met with KENS 5 reporter, and fellow Ovarian Cancer Survivor, Roma Villavicencio, in September. Their combined story of survival quickly touched the hearts of so many people in our community, with the web copy reaching more than 90,000 people on Facebook alone.

Alyssa's family is organizing a fundraiser plate sale on her behalf this weekend in the hopes of raising funds for her mounting medical bills. The event at Crazy J's Sports Bar kicks off at 11 a.m. Saturday.

You can also donate to a GoFundMe account for Alyssa and her daughter by clicking here.
