Woman shot in thigh while standing in front of her east-side home, police say

Officers say a car pulled up with three people inside it, they jumped out and someone opened fire.

SAN ANTONIO — Police say a woman was found shot in the thigh in front of her east-side home early Thursday morning.

San Antonio Police responded to the 400 block of St. James Street near North New Braunfels Avenue around 1:30 a.m. for reports of a shooting in progress.

Officers tell us that a car with three men inside pulled up in front of her home and they jumped out and someone started shooting. The woman was standing out front with a man at the time.

The woman, who police say is in her 40s, was hit in her thigh. She was taken to BAMC and is expected to be okay.

Police say they found more than 60 shell casings on the ground at the scene.

Detectives have not yet released a description of the shooters.
