Worker shot while taking trash to dumpster at apartment complex, police say

The shooting happened around 10 a.m. at the Westward Plaza apartments in the 2600 block of Westward, near the intersection of Highway 90 and Miliary Drive.

SAN ANTONIO — A maintenance worker was shot while taking trash to a dumpster at an apartment complex on the west side of San Antonio Friday morning.

The shooting happened around 10 a.m. at the Westward Plaza apartments in the 2600 block of Westward, near the intersection of Highway 90 and Miliary Drive.

Police said a man in his 30s who works for the apartment complex was taking some boxes to a dumpster when he was hit in his upper chest near his arm by a single shot.  After he was shot, the maintenance worker made his way to the leasing office to call for help.

The man was taken to the hospital and his injury is said to be not life-threatening.

Police say they don’t have any leads or suspects in this case.
