SAN ANTONIO — A teenager has been arrested in the August shooting death of a 61-year-old man, police said.
The shooting happened Aug. 30 outside of a home on Bob Billa Street on the southeast side. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition but died from his injuries Sept. 8.
Tristan Avery Lerma, 18, is now charged with murder in the case. An arrest affidavit says Lerma was arrested on different charges soon after the shooting. The report also says a witness with him at the time of the shooting showed police a series of Instagram messages allegedly tying Lerma to the shooting.
Police also matched the social media stories with the stolen vehice that suspects used in the shooting.
This is an ongoing investigation.
