Police were called in to Wednesday night's Von Ormy City Council meeting by the mayor.
Mayor Trina Reyes ordered the city marshal to arrest councilwoman Verna Hernandez for reportedly talking out of order.
During the arrest, Hernandez apparently had a medical emergency and was rushed to a hospital. Fellow council members say they are appalled and said this is no way to run a city.
"It's ridiculous, it needs to be a govt body working together, here in the city," said Jacqueline Goede, Mayor Pro Tem.
The Mayor Pro Tem said tomorrow residents will begin to gather support to have the mayor removed from office.
Goede said Hernandez suffered contusions to her arm and en elevated heart rate. It was unknown at the time of her call to KENS 5 when Hernandez would be released from the hospital.
In May, multiple council members were indicted on charged of violating the Texas Open Meetings act. The Texas Rangers launched an investigation after a meeting was held without proper notice
