Bexar County surpasses 40% voter turnout margin as early voting wraps up on Friday

Election Day, on Nov. 5, is the final day for people to cast their ballots.

SAN ANTONIO — Tens of thousands of people packed the polls across Bexar County on Thursday with just one more day of early voting to go ahead of Election Day.

Elections officials posted on Facebook that the county crossed the 40% turnout margin in terms of registered voters, of which there are nearly 1.3 million in Bexar County.

Since the start of early voting last week, 513,959 people have voted in person across the county's 50 polling sites, according to the latest numbers provided Thursday evening. Brook Hollow Library and Northwest Vista College have continued to be among the most populated polling sites.

Jean Kolovson and her husband didn't spend too much in time line at Brook Hollow.

“We were led to the front of the line, which I was very surprised. It was very quick," Kolovson said. “It was  great to see everyone doing their civic duty.”

Over at the Bexar County Elections Department headquarters, there were no long lines. Aaron Parks got in and out within 15 minutes.

“I know the crowds, it was real busy last week. Didn’t take too long for me to vote," Parks said.

The Local SATX micro transit service is offering free rides to the Lion's Field Adult and Senior Center polling site on Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. They pick up prospective voters at 808 Avenue B.
