SAN ANTONIO — The first big day for Texas voters to be aware of before Election Day is just around the corner.

Monday, Oct. 7, marks the deadline to register to cast a ballot in the November election, which is headlined by the Oval Office contest between Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump.

County officials said Friday that the number of registered voters this year was already 7.6% higher than the Bexar County electorate in 2020. The Elections Department is hoping to capitalize on the momentum by opening its brick-and-mortar office this weekend to help register more eligible residents.

Normally closed on weekends, the Bexar County Elections Department office at 1103 S. Frio Street Suite 200 will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. It'll also be open later than normal on Monday, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., to service those who are dropping off last-minute applications.

Unsure if you're registered to vote for the November election? You can check by inputting your birthday and house number on this page. You'll also be able to find your assigned precinct number and a sample ballot.
