SAN ANTONIO — Gina Ortiz Jones is ready to take on Representative Will Hurd for a second time.
Ortiz Jones took to Twitter this morning to announce her candidacy in Texas' 23rd Congressional District.
Will Hurd currently represents District 23.
In her Twitter post, Ortiz Jones encourages others to "join us as we finish what we started."
The American Iraqi War veteran came up short (926 votes to be exact) in her 2018 run for Congress.
Noting that she's "never been one to back down," Ortiz Jones shares that she's ready to step up to the plate again.
In a press release, Ortiz Jones stated that she believes incumbent Representative Will Hurd is "out of touch with Texas families after years spent prioritizing his political career in D.C. over the interests of his constituents."
