SAN ANTONIO - A man died at a local hospital a couple of hours after he was found unresponsive at the bottom of a gym pool Friday morning.
He was later identified as 67-year-old Ray Daniel Paiz.
San Antonio Fire Department spokesperson Joe Arrington said crews were called out to an LA Fitness location at 1339 N. Loop 1604 West around 9:45 a.m.
SAFD said another swimmer went into the pool and found the man at the bottom. The man was pulled out and given CPR.
He was transported to North Central Baptist Hospital in critical condition. SAFD says the drowning was accidental.
