SAN ANTONIO -- The San Antonio Police Department said it submitted investigative findings in the death of Antronie Scott to the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney's office for review.
Police said in a media release Thursday that there is some forensic evidence that is still being processed, but SAPD turned over what is currently available so the D.A.'s office can begin an independent examination of the case.
As KENS 5 reported, Scott was shot and killed by a San Antonio police officer last Thursday. The officer said he thought Scott was holding a gun when he opened fire, but it turned out to be a cell phone. Scott was under surveillance for multiple felony warrants prior to the shooting.
The administrative case is currently being investigated by the SAPD internal affairs department.
Police said they will continue to provide updates into the administrative aspects of the case as they become available.
