Uvalde PD disciplines staff member after discovery of unreleased bodycam footage from Robb Elementary shooting

On Aug. 12, Chief of Police Homer Delgado ordered a comprehensive audit of UPD servers to see whether there was any bodycam footage yet to be disclosed.

UVALDE, Texas — The Uvalde Police Department has taken what it called "disciplinary action" against a staff member who was placed on paid leave during an investigation surrounding unreleased body camera footage from the Robb Elementary School shooting in May 2022.

On Aug. 12, Chief of Police Homer Delgado ordered a comprehensive audit of UPD servers to see whether there was any additional video related to the Robb Elementary School shooting that had not yet been disclosed. That came after the department said it found footage that wasn't released as part of a lawsuit brought forth by a coalition of news organizations, including KENS 5.

The subsequent investigation, police officials said, revealed additional footage that wasn't released. It's unknown exactly what the video is comprised of.

"The Uvalde Police Department remains committed to transparency, accountability and ensuring that all personnel adhere to the highest standards of professionalism," the agency said in a release.

UPD didn't identity the staff member, nor did officials specify what kind of discipline was handed down.
