Are beaches opened or closed? Check this list of Coastal Bend beach restrictions before you go.

Beach restrictions have been put in place to limit the spread of the coronavirus in the Coastal Bend during the holiday weekend.

Bob Hall Pier, Packery Channel, I.B. Magee

Bob Hall Pier posted on Facebook that one 10 foot space is allowed per fisherman or family with a maximum of 6 people.

Spaces on the pier are marked with red tape. Once visitors exit the pier, they will not be guaranteed return entry. Return entry is dependent on the space availability.

ADA access and accommodations will be available at Bob Hall Pier and I.B. Magee Beach.

The boat ramp at Packery Channel and the two under the JFK Causeway will remain open for boat launch. Fishing from boats and the beach will be allowed.

Padre Island National Seashore

The closure includes all park beaches and overnight beach camping.

  • Malaquite Visitor Center
  • Malaquite Campground
  • Bird Island Basin Campground

Corpus Christi Parks

From Friday, July 3 to Tuesday, July 7 parks and beaches will be available for walking, running, swimming, biking, yoga, and fishing. No gatherings, camping, sitting in chairs, eating, lounging, or lying down.

  • McGee Beach
  • North Beach
  • Bill Witt
  • West Guth
  • Salinas Park
  • Water's Edge
  • Cole Park
  • Labonte Park
  • Lakeview Park
  • Parker Park

Rockport

The Rockport Beach will be closed this Fourth of July weekend to vehicular traffic. The beach will reopen access Tuesday, July 7.

Officials made the decision after other Texas beaches made the decisions to close. Aransas County Navigation District boat ramps will remain open except the beach ramp.

The Wendell Family Fireworks show will take place on July 4. Organizers said residents do not have to be at the beach to view the show. The show can be seen from their homes, boats, or cars.

Mustang Island State Park

Mustang Island is only allowing residents entry if they have a reservation and all reservations for the weekend are sold out.

Mustang Island State Park is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed Monday through Thursday.

Kleberg County

Kleberg County Judge Rudy Madrid signed an order Wednesday morning that will close area beaches until July 11.

The Kleberg County order applies to North Padre Island beaches but does not include the Baffin Bay or Cay de Grullo Beach.

Like the Nueces County order, the Kleberg order prohibits vehicular traffic on the beach; however, those wanting to swim, surf, or exercise can still make their way to the beach on foot.
