SAN ANTONIO — A woman accused of murdering her boyfriend by shooting him and cutting his throat has been sentenced to life in prison.
Court records show Laura Messick was sentenced in the death of Chason Montez-Deoca, who was killed on June 10, 2017.
Police say the couple argued because he made her leave a bar. Messick told officers her boyfriend told her she deserved to get assaulted by his ex-wife after she bailed him out of jail. Police say she shot him in the bathroom, and as it happened, she said she thought “What an a**hole. What a jerk”.
Police said she then got a kitchen knife and cut the man’s throat after he had been shot.
