SAN ANTONIO β The Clark High School girls basketball team made history Saturday night: They won the school's first basketball state title.
The Cougars defeated DeSoto High School, 42-37, in the Class 6A state championship game. DeSoto had won the past two titles and was going for three in a row.
Clark is the first team from the area to win the title since Judson in 2019. Arianna Roberson was awarded the Most Valuable Player award.
Clark finished the season with a 34-3 record.
