SAN ANTONIO — Week 1 of Texas high school football is in the books, providing early hints at the San Antonio-teams that could be juggernauts this season ahead of potential playoff runs.
With the opening slate behind us, let's take a look at my KENS 5 Top 5 power rankings for local programs.
No. 5: Alamo Heights Mules (1-0)
The Mules went up the highway to Seguin and came back with a 47-19 win in tow! That's an impressive victory to get the season started on the road. Junior Quarterback Corey Dailey led a balanced offensive attack, tossing scores to Ayden Avila, Nik Henry and Lane Seidenberg, according to statistics provided by MaxPreps.
Dailey also rushed for 69 yards himself to bolster a 188-yard passing performance.
No. 4: Smithson Valley Rangers (1-0)
The Rangers machine came down from the Hill Country and handled Roosevelt in shutout fashion. The final from Comalander Stadium: 45-zip.
