SAN ANTONIO — Here's a look at our Plays of the Week nominees for Week 7 of high school football in the San Antonio area!
1. First, from the undefeated Southwest Dragons, running back Tyson Deen looked to be out of the running, but turned on a dine and found an opening from where he started. He reversed course, taking it all the way to the 1 yard line, turning a negative play into a scoring chance. That led to another Dragons win.
2. Kalobe Rond frmo the Churchill Chargers put Brandeis in a spin cycle for our second nominee. He got past the safety with a silky smooth spin move and would not be touched the rest of the way. Rond's run took it to the house for a 75-yard touchdown.
3. The last nominee is a must-see defensive feat from Alamo Heights. Mules defensive back Walker Warnecke beat out the receiver, making an incredible over-the-shoulder interception, taking a big play away from Victoria West.
