BOERNE, Texas — A legendary coach in Boerne ISD history will be receiving a huge honor come 2025.
Boerne ISD announced in a press release that current Athletic Director Stan Leech is heading to the Texas High School Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
Coach Leech was the head boys' basketball coach at Boerne High School for 22 seasons and Champion High School for 10 seasons before retiring from coaching in 2018. He's also entering his 25th year as the district's athletic director.
Coach Leech won 833 games in his 32-year coaching career, making the playoffs 27 times and winning 12 district championships. He also led Boerne to the UIL state tournament in 1990 and 2008.
Coach Leech will be inducted during a May 2025 banquet as part of the annual Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Clinic.
