SAN ANTONIO — Seven weeks of the high school football season in the books! Here’s my KENS 5 Top Five!
No. 5: John Jay Mustangs (6-0)
I’m gonna tie things up! It’s what I can do! John Jay is (6-0)! Southwest is (6-0)! Both teams are steamrolling toward the 5A playoffs! Well done fellas! The Mustangs are at Laredo Nixon this week while the Dragons play rival Southwest Legacy.
No. 4: Alamo Heights Mules (7-0)
Alamo Heights! Although feels like they could be number one! Tough calls! They are (7-0). They put 56 on previously unbeaten Victoria West. The Mules visit Veterans Memorial this week.
No. 3: Steele Knights (6-1)
The Steele Knights! Their annual showdown with Judson was all Knight Nation winning 56-3. Steele is (6-1)! The Knights are on the bye this week before hosting San Marcos Rattlers the week following.
No. 2: Pieper Warriors (6-0)
The Pieper Warriors. They went on the road and beat Seguin 56-37. They are (6-0) and host New Braunfels this week! Looking forward to that!
No. 1: Brennan Bears (5-1)
I've gotta stay with the Brennan Bears. 38-14 winners they were on Saturday over the Marshall Rams. Another double digit win. They are (5-1). They face the Holmes Huskies this week.
