McAllister Park earns spot at Little League World Series

WACO, Texas -- The team from McAllister Park Little League in San Antonio is headed to the Little League World Series.

WACO, Texas -- The team from McAllister Park Little League in San Antonio is headed to the Little League World Series.

McAllister Park, the Texas West champs, defeated a team from New Mexico, 13-3, on Wednesday to win the Southwest Region championship.

The team will represent the Southwest Region at the World Series in Williamsport, Pa., on Aug. 19.

Southwestern Region Little League tournament officials also congratulated the Eastdale, New Mexico, team on a great season on its Twitter account.

Wednesday's championship rematch of the two teams was no contest. New Mexico had beaten McAllister Park earlier in the regional tournament.

McAllister Park will play the Great Lakes Region Champion in its next matchup. That tournament will conclude Saturday.

The Little League World Series features eight teams playing in a double-elimination format.
