BALTIMORE — A rough weekend continues for the Texas Rangers as shortstop Corey Seager was forced to exit the third game of the series against the Baltimore Orioles after getting hit by a pitch in the wrist area.
Seager started the game off strong with a 416-foot solo home run in the first inning. However, things took a turn for the worse when he lined up in the batter's box in the fifth inning.
With two outs and a full count, Seager took a 91 mph sinker to what appeared to be his left wrist.
The shortstop immediately went to the ground, yelling in pain.
Seager then got up from the ground and exited the game alongside a team medical trainer and the Rangers went on to lose 6-5.
“The initial X-rays were negative, so that's good news for us,” manager Bruce Bochy said. “We'll see where he's at tomorrow. If we need another X-ray, we'll do it. It got him pretty good, but we're hoping for the best.”
