NEW ORLEANS — A new video published by TMZ on Saturday shows Jaxson Hayes shoving and spitting at his former girlfriend during a 2021 incident that happened in California, according to Nola.com.

Hayes was a first-round pick in 2019 for the New Orleans Pelicans and was still on the team at the time.

According to our partners, the video showed Hayes " dragging Sofia Jamora through a doorway. Jamora told Hayes, “Stop. Let go of me.”

Hayes then shoved and spit at Jamora, as the argument continued in the driveway.

The video shows Jamora saying "I'm not gonna let you hit me anymore. What do I look like? A punching bag?"

An NBA spokesperson told ESPN the league is reopening the investigation, our partners reported.

Previously, the NBA investigated the incident and chose not to suspend Hayes.

Hayes was arrested and was sentenced to three years of probation, 450 hours of community service, and a year of weekly domestic violence classes.

Hayes spent four seasons with the Pelicans and was signed to the Los Angeles Lakes in 2023.
