Cool! Check out this Spurs-Emilio Navaira jersey mashup

An NBA jersey artist created a Spurs concept jersey paying homage to the legendary Tejano musician.

SAN ANTONIO — What better way to sum up the spirit of San Antonio than a San Antonio Spurs jersey honoring the late Tejano artist Emilio Navaira?

NBA jersey artist Trevor Paxton showed off his Spurs alternate jersey concept on social media, featuring the Silver & Black and the "King of Tejano music."

"Emilio. The King of Tejano. The Garth Brooks of Tejano. No matter what you call him, Navaira is as San Antonio as they come — from his birth until his passing at age 53," Paxton shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The jersey has a white colorway with the font honoring Navaira's "La Persona de Mi Vida" and "Siempre Grande" songs.

According to Paxton, the jersey pattern is based on Navaira's paisley shirts and features the Spurs' Fiesta colors in the colar and number, outlined with a serape-inspired flourish.

The jersey concept is a hit with Spurs fans; one even called it a "masterpiece."

Paxton is creating concept jerseys for all NBA teams, but his Spurs jersey creation captures the essence of the City of San Antonio by combining the love for the Spurs and the music of the Tejano capital of the world.
