The Spurs are 1-2 on the season, and will next visit the Phoenix Suns Tuesday night in the first of two in a row against the Suns.
Here's a sample of what the teams said after the game via the Spurs.
SPURS
Gregg Popovich
"It's an education. On the road, it's different from playing at home in the NBA. If you start out poorly, you can't get poorer. You can't lose your ability to compete. Playing embarrassed sort of speaks because you're quickly getting your butt kicked. You got to fight your way out of that. You got to stick together."
Wembanyama
"Of course, there is a lot of talent in front of us [Clippers] but it shouldn't be an excuse. I think there's stuff we can work on."
"I wouldn't see any reason to be frustrated with three games in the new season. It is a learning experience for all of us of course."
Vassell
"Credit to them [Clippers] they have been together for a couple of years. We just got to play better. We got to come out better. We got to move on. We have another game against Phoenix and we'll be better."
"Even last year I hated losing. I hate losing now. I always hate losing. We'll watch some film, we'll get better and it sucks losing by 40 points."
CLIPPERS
Ty Lue
“Defense. You know I thought we did a really good job of locking in, being physical. You know they have length and they’re big and rebound the basketball. We only gave up six offensive rebounds. Just overall really good defense, locked in."
