SAN ANTONIO — Here we go again.
TNT's basketball analyst Charles Barkley once again had some choice words for the City of San Antonio, and yes, he took more potshots at the resident women.
Barkley was a guest on "The Stephen A. Smith" show when the topic of visiting San Antonio came up.
Smith reminded Barkley of his past comments about women in San Antonio being overweight, in which Barkley said he said this to get people to watch him on television on "Inside The NBA."
"Let's make people have a good time because we want people to watch," Barkley said. "You know, San Antonio, I was just having fun."
Barkley explained that when he visited San Antonio, some fans attacked him for his remarks, while others understood he was kidding around.
"When I went down there, and they were coming for me, these women were coming up to me, 'I ain't that big,' and we're laughing," he said. "Then I got people coming up, 'Chuck, you're right, we got some big ones down here,' and I'm laughing both ways."
Said Barkley: "You want people having fun watching stupid basketball. That's all it is."
However, Barkley did not stop there.
He went on to poke fun at the city's River Walk and the historic Alamo.
"Wait a minute. They call it the River Walk. That's a dirty, little creek," said Barkley. "And then, their number one tourist attraction is a place where everybody got killed. Think about that: The Alamo."
Barkley went on to say San Antonio only has "big women" and the Alamo "where everybody got killed."
Ever since Barkley took verbal jabs at the city, he has drawn the ire of residents and, as he mentioned, received pushback from former mayor Julian Castro.
What do you have to say, San Antonio Spurs fans? Do you think Barkley's opinion on the city and the women are just for fun, or are you offended? Let us know on X at KENS 5, and JeffGSpursKENS5.
