SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs (3-19) will host the Los Angeles Lakers (14-9) tonight. The Spurs are currently on a historic 17-game losing skid.
GAME REWIND
The Spurs are coming off a road loss versus the Rockets, 93-82. The 12.2% three-point shooting by the Spurs versus the Rockets is the fourth-lowest percentage by a team with 40-plus attempts in NBA history.
Victor Wembanyama finished with 15 points and 18 rebounds. Doug McDermott recorded six points. Zach Collins had two points and four rebounds in the loss. Jeremy Sochan had seven points and two assists. Keldon Johnson added 12 points and seven rebounds. Devin Vassell recorded 14 points.
"They played great defense. We stuck to the game plan 5-for-41 from three. Can't hit a shot. So defensively I feel like we did a great job. We got great looks but we just couldn't capitalize," Keldon Johnson said. "It's definitely frustrating. We dropped a lot of games we should have won. It's frustrating. We know that it will turn. We know that we put in the work for it. We believe in each other. I wouldn't want to do it with another other group than the group we got."
INJURY REPORT
The Spurs will be without Charles Bassey (out for the season/torn left ACL). Sidy Cissoko, Sir'Jabari Rice, and Charles Bediako are out with the Austin Spurs.
THE UNIFORMS
The Spurs will be in their Icon Edition jerseys today.
