The Spurs could not pick up a road win in Utah.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs recorded a road loss against Utah, 128-109. The Spurs are now 1-7 on the Rodeo Road Trip.

Victor Wembanyama finished with 22 points, five blocks and 10 rebounds. Malaki Branham had 14 points and two rebounds. Zach Collins added 17 points off the bench. Devin Vassell recorded 27 points in the loss. Tre Jones added 15 points and nine assists.

The Spurs are 11-47 on the season and will next visit the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night for their final game of the Rodeo Trip.

Here's a sample of what the teams said after the game.

SPURS

Coach Mitch Johnson:

"I thought we had some good defense early on. We didn't give ourselves a chance a couple of times. It was just very sloppy possessions on offense."

"When you have a young team, it's disciplined to pass the ball, trust the next guy, and move the ball. Quick shots, over dribbling, playing in crowds or bugaboos, and sometimes, I think with young players, the intentions may be right. Sometimes you got to just trust the team to make the play."

"Just repetitive mistakes. Sometimes you need to change up the messaging and change up the accountability or how you do things and Pop (Gregg Popovich) is the best at it."

Wembanyama:

"Very poor start. It's the consistency, as always. I think we were a little bit slow. Sloppy today. Maybe tired, but we got to make extra efforts and play smart, which we didn't do."

"To start the problem wasn't defensively. We were ready in the whole first half. There's always going to be mistakes."
