Here's a sample of what the teams said after the game.
SPURS
Coach Gregg Popovich:
"That's been one of the most competitive games that I've been a part of for many years. For 48 minutes under difficult circumstances. These guys just played. They didn't worry about a call, a turnover, or whatever. They just went for the next play. So many people participated with the effort for 48 [minutes]."
Branham:
"You know, everyone is not good, we lost. But Pop [Coach Gregg Popovich] said we played great, a few mistakes. We shot 50 percent from the free-throw line. Missed a couple of easy ones. Just stuff like that trickled down at the end of the game. It is a work in progress. We have been building towards this right now, just got to keep building."
Wembanyama:
"It's a good fight. I think we showed some great efforts on both sides of the court. We had a good performance. It's details."
Jones:
"We missed some easy ones for sure, myself included. That is just how it goes sometimes; we shot 50 percent from the free-throw line. I think that is the main thing that killed us tonight, it was not necessarily shots not falling and whatnot. If we take care of free throws, the game could definitely fall our way."
