Nuggets 132, Spurs 120: What they said after the game

The Spurs losing skid extends to 12 after a loss in Denver.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs' losing skid extends to 12 in a row after losing to the Denver Nuggets 132-120 on the road.

Victor Wembanyama had 22 points, six steals, and 11 rebounds to lead the team while Cedi Osman recorded seven points. Zach Collins had nine points and four rebounds in the loss. Jeremy Sochan had four points but exited the game after the first half with an injury and did not return. Keldon Johnson added 10 points. Devin Vassell recorded 19 points.

The Spurs are 3-14 on the season, and will next host the Atlanta Hawks Thursday night.

Here's a sample of what the teams said after the game.

SPURS

Gregg Popovich:

"I want him (Wembanyama) to play both (center and forward). I don't want him to just be a perimeter player or just a post player. He can affect the game in both areas. He's got to get minutes in both."

Wembanyama

"Our first quarters are usually okay but we got to be consistent throughout the game."

"I can see why they (Denver) won it (NBA title). It's a very balanced team. It feels like they know each other well. It's a great challenge every time we play them."

NUGGETS

DeAndre Jordan

Nikola Jokic

“He's (Wembanyama) making mistakes which is normal. I think the media around him doesn't help him but he's going to get used to it because the guy is just 19 years old. He’s going to change the game 100 percent. Just enjoy and watch the show."
