Oddsmaker places Spurs as the top spot for guard Darius Garland if he does not stay in Cleveland

Garland would help fill San Antonio's need for point guard help.

SAN ANTONIO — Las Vegas oddsmakers are busy with 2024 NBA offseason prop futures. With the regular season complete, players could be on the move, including Cleveland's point guard Darius Garland.

Several major online sportsbooks are releasing which teams have the best odds of landing Garland if he does not remain with the Cavs.

According to BetOnline Sportsbook, the San Antonio Spurs are the No. 1 team he could call home next season.

BetOnline has the Spurs with the best odds of getting Garland at +300.

The Magic (+400), Heat (+500), and Pistons (+700) follow the Spurs as favorites to land Garland.

If the Spurs want to add him for next season, it must be via a trade, and you can expect Cleveland to have a high price point for the guard.

Garland's salary is $36.7 million next season, and San Antonio can match a Cavs offer, but how far will the team bend to Cleveland's demands?

Also, according to a report, Garland could be on the move if Donovan Mitchell signs an extension with the Cavs.

"Should Mitchell decide to stay long term, sources briefed on the matter say Garland's representation, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, would have a conversation with Cavs officials on potentially finding a new home for the one-time All-Star."

Garland would help fill San Antonio's need for point guard help, and he checks all the boxes.

He has yet to enter his prime (24 years old), and he is an All-Star with career averages of 18.4 points per game and 6.7 assists, 45% field-goal shooting, and 38% from the three-point line.

In other words, he could fit well with Victor Wembanyama.

He can also see San Antonio as a fresh start after playing behind Colin Sexton and Mitchell, which might bode well for the Spurs.
