SAN ANTONIO — Oddsmakers are busy with 2024-25 NBA prop futures and recently projected which NBA team LeBron James might call home next in his storied career.
And apparently, it is the San Antonio Spurs.
According to Vegas oddsmakers BetOnline, the Spurs are 3/1 favorites to land James if he does not remain with the Lakers.
Why you might ask?
According to BetOnline, with the Spurs likely to get a top pick in the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft, chances are that the team could select James' son, Bronny.
The speculation is that James would probably want Bronny to be coached by Gregg Popovich which would push him to join San Antonio.
Landing James would be a huge boon for the Spurs. The star power of James and Victor Wembanyama complete with Popovich and Bronny would make the Spurs must-see television.
Also, he'd be a solid veteran presence on the young roster on and off the court. He's also shown tremendous respect to the Spurs and Popovich throughout his career.
But would James want to come to a rebuilding team or contend for the NBA title as his career winds down? Would he be too ball-dominant and take away touches from Wembanyama?
Rounding out the top five teams to land James include the Cleveland Cavaliers (4/1), the Chicago Bulls (5/1), the Dallas Mavericks (6/1) and the New York Knicks (6/1).
Is this just a dream? Could this be a bad situation or perhaps a good one for the young Spurs? Let us know what you think on X at @KENS5 and @JeffGSpursZone.
