SAN ANTONIO — According to a report via ESPN, the San Antonio Spurs are set to complete a trade with the Kings for forward Jalen McDaniels and a second-round pick.
San Antonio will reportedly waive McDaniels once the deal is officially complete, taking a contract off Sacramento's hands while arming themselves with another pick to add to their war chest.
It shouldn't come as a surprise that the Spurs plan to immediately waive McDaniels, a 26-year-old power forward who averaged 3.4 points and 1.6 rebounds per game in 50 appearances for Toronto last year. San Antonio still has to shorten its own roster before the start of the regular season and the team boasts an abundance of wing players.
The team now has 18 future second-round picks at its disposal, whether to use in a trade or by drafting the players they like.
