San Antonio Spurs legend and assistant coach Tim Duncan has won his first game while serving in a head coaching capacity. The Silver and Black beat the Charlotte Hornets 104-103 while on the road.
Duncan took over head coaching duties Tuesday night in Charlotte as Gregg Popovich missed the game due to personal business, according to multiple media reports.
Tonight's game marked Duncan's first time starting a game as the head coach. He took over mid-game for Popovich after an ejection in November against Portland.
Assistant coach Will Hardy handled pregame media availability and will take care of the postgame as well.
