The Spurs cruised to a win over the Hornets and their second consecutive win.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs picked up their second straight win, beating the Hornets, 135-99, at home. The win also secures the team's first winning streak of the season.

The Spurs recorded 47% three-point shooting for the game and had 31 assists to cruise to the win.

Victor Wembanyama had 26 points and 11 rebounds on the night. Jeremy Sochan had 13 points and six rebounds. Keldon Johnson added 10 points and two rebounds off the bench. Devin Vassell recorded 12 points in the win while Tre Jones added six points and seven assists.

The Spurs are 7-30 on the season and will next host the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night.

Here's a sample of what the teams said after the game.

SPURS

Coach Gregg Popovich:

“We kept a good pace at the start of the game. Neither team could really make a shot. We got it together as far as getting some buckets to go down. Just thought they were pretty solid at both ends of the floor tonight and had good performances by a good number of people. We had over 30 assists again and that's always a great sign that we're moving well and finding open people. They look like they're beginning to understand how to play with each other."

McDermott:

"It (shooting) felt good. Once that first one goes in you just feel like you're not going to miss. That's kind of how it felt tonight. They (teammates) just did a really good job at finding me. I wish I could've been a part of more of the third and fourth quarter but it's all good."

Wembanyama:

"Sharing the ball. Doing the right decisions, especially coming back from halftime. I'm not playing tomorrow. I wish I did. We're on a winning streak right now. I have been trying to be locked in on every play. Every time I step on the court I keep my goals in mind."
