SAN ANTONIO — Las Vegas oddsmakers are busy with NBA Draft prop futures and projecting the odds on where Heat's Jimmy Butler could play for the 2025-26 season.
According to oddsmaker Bovada, the San Antonio Spurs are among the teams Butler would play, and the odds are set at +800.
San Antonio is in a great spot to add Butler if Miami is set to part with him as he enters free agency. The Spurs have many assets (draft picks, players to trade) to deal with Miami in a sign-and-trade scenario, and adding him would be a huge defensive boost. In other words, the Spurs can attract the NBA veteran and compete with other teams.
Toss in San Antonio's financial cap space, and the Spurs could be an enticing landing spot for the NBA All-Star.
He would also bolster the roster with veteran presence and bring some toughness on the court but will the Spurs invest in an older player with a history of injuries and offer him a significant deal that might hamper attracting other players to San Antonio?
The 35-year-old averaged 20.8 points per game last season, including 5.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists.
The Heat, Nets, Warriors, and Rockets are ahead of the Spurs with better odds of landing Butler.
