SAN ANTONIO — Former San Antonio Spurs center Aron Baynes has retired from basketball.
He played nine seasons in the NBA, suiting up for the Spurs (2013-15), Celtics, Pistons, Raptors and Suns. He also spent time with the Austin Toros in 2013.
Baynes went undrafted in 2009 and played overseas before signing with the Spurs in 2013. He would go on to help the Silver & Black win the 2014 NBA title.
Baynes finished his NBA career averaging six points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
Baynes is the second former Spur to announce his retirement in recent days. Former Spurs swingman Danny Green recently announced he was also hanging up his basketball cleats.
