SAN ANTONIO — A trio of young players are locked in.

The San Antonio Spurs announced they have exercised their third-year team option on forward Jeremy Sochan and guards Malaki Branham and Blake Wesley for the 2024-25 season.

Sochan is entering his second year with the Spurs after being named to the 2022-23 NBA All-Rookie Second Team last season. Playing in 56 games where he averaged 11.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 26.0 minutes.

He is also tabbed to start at point guard at the home opener and is looking for the team to correct things before facing Dallas.

"I think as always, defense, just communication, and playing hard," Sochan said. "Recently, we've been playing harder than the first game."

Branham played in 66 games last year and averaged 10.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 23.5 minutes while Wesley appeared in 37 games last year, averaging 5.0 points, 2.7 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 18.1 minutes.

All three players will be key in the franchise's reboot to pair with Victor Wembanyama.

According to the Spurs, the team's draft class trio of 2022, featuring Sochan, Branham and Wesley, marked the first time in San Antonio franchise history that the Silver and Black made three first round picks in the same year.
