Self Financial and the Spurs celebrate another season together; Chris Paul on 'stacking days' to see positive changes

Self will no longer be the Spurs' jersey path sponsor, but will continue to be a part of the team in new ways.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs announced that Self Financial will continue to serve as the team's official credit-building app for a third season. Self Financial will also become the team’s presenting partner for their Emirates NBA Cup games and the presenting partner of Spurs Her Time to Play.

However, Self is closing out its term as the team’s jersey patch partner, though it will still be active in fan engagement and other aspects of the partnership.

“We’re touched by Self’s passionate and unwavering support of pivotal impact programs such as SCLI and Her Time to Play, as they work hand-in-hand with us to help shape the leaders of tomorrow,” said Frank Miceli, chief commercial officer at Spurs Sports & Entertainment, in a release. “The work we’ve led together in the first two years of this partnership has been incredibly fulfilling for our organization, and we’re looking forward to new opportunities in this third season. We commend Self for always seeking transformative ways to engage with our team, our fans and our community in pursuit of building talent and dreams alongside us.”

“With the mission-driven nature of our partnership and shared values with the Spurs, we’ve seen great success in the first two years,” added Brett Billick, chief marketing officer at Self. “We’re excited to participate in additional events this season that offer more opportunities to engage directly with fans and the Spurs community.”

It remains unknown for now which company will sponsor the team's jersey patch.

CHRIS PAUL DISCUSSES "STACKING DAYS" AND HOW IT HELPS HIS SON

New Spurs point guard Chris Paul recently spoke about how he motivates his son through the concept of "stacking days."

Paul's son, who he says is small just like he was, encourages him to overcome obstacles by building on training days.

"And I've talked to him about the training and how hard it is," he said. "But he's finally starting to see a little bit of change, right in his game or whatever is his ability."

Said Paul: "And all I keep telling him is keep stacking days. As long as you keep stacking days, I promise you, you will see the change."

This is excellent advice for anyone to implement on and off the court.
