SAN ANTONIO — The NBA has released the first returns of fan NBA 2024 All-Star voting and San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama received plenty of votes.
Wemby has received a total of 221, 220 fan votes good for eighth in the West Frontcourt. It puts him ahead of OKC's rookie Chet Holmgren (9) and Wolves' Karl Anthony-Towns (10).
The rookie is certainly putting up solid numbers and is must-see television as well as a must-buy ticket to see in person.
Currently, he is posting 18.9 points per game along with 10.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 44% field goal shooting, and 3.1 blocks,
In his last three games, he has recorded 20-plus point outings including 30 points and seven blocks against Portland on Dec. 28.
Should he make the West squad as a rookie it will not only be a major accomplishment for him, but he will also join Tim Duncan who is the last player the Spurs drafted No. 1 overall to make the All-Star Game as a rookie.
